The USGS Magnitude 2.5 Earthquakes Past Day

If you're one of the millions of people who rely on the USGS Earthquake Hazards Program's Latest Earthquakes application, you may have noticed that the application has not been loading recently. We apologize for the inconvenience. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. In the meantime, we encourage you to try our legacy Latest Earthquakes application, which provides the same functionality as the new application.

Here are some statistics on recent earthquake activity:

  • 33 earthquakes with a magnitude of 2.5 or greater have occurred in the past day.
  • 166 earthquakes with a magnitude of 1.5 or greater have occurred in the past 24 hours.
  • 1068 earthquakes with a magnitude of 1.0 or greater have occurred in the past 7 days.

Earthquakes are shown on the map as circles, with the size of the circle indicating the magnitude of the earthquake. Red circles indicate earthquakes that occurred within the past hour, blue circles indicate earthquakes that occurred within the past day, and yellow circles indicate earthquakes that occurred within the past 7 days. The EQ3D Real-time global earthquake monitor also provides a 3D map display of recent earthquake activity.

The latest earthquakes on the map are listed below, along with news headlines and links to more information.
